Investigation of the coordination of tetradentate N2S2 ligands has been reported for gallium and indium.79 This type of chelate had previously been incorporated into many technetium complexes for biomedical applications. [Pg.892]

The reliable prediction of redox potentials as a function of composition is useful in the synthetic design and application of technetium and other transition metal complexes. A parametric procedure for doing so on the basis of ligand additivity principles has been developed by Lever [28]. Lu etal. [29] used this scheme to correlateTc / ",Tc "/ , andTc hi potentials with the composition of octahedral technetium complexes containing halide, nitrogen, and phosphorus donor ligands. The results are illustrated in Fig. 2 [29], where the observed potentials are plotted according to... [Pg.436]

Complexes of technetium in oxidation states ranging from (-1) to (VII) have been prepared chemically and characterized. However, historically only the higher oxidation states (IV), (V) and (VII) have been of major importance in radiopharmaceutical formulations. More recently there has been increased interest in lower oxidation state technetium complexes for medical applications, and the use of ir-acceptor ligands has allowed the preparation of Tc1 complexes which are stable in vivo. The coordination chemistry of technetium has been described in Chapter 42 and recent reviews have been provided by Davison21 and by Schwochau.22 Reviews which relate to medical applications of technetium are given by Jones and Davison,549 Deutsch et al.,20 Deutsch and Barnett,550 Siedel551 and Clarke and Fackler.552 The in vivo chemistry of "mTc chelates has been described by Eckelman and Volkert,553 while the structures of technetium complexes, determined by X-ray diffraction techniques, have been reviewed by Bandoli et ai554... [Pg.973]

The large effect of the metal-aqua bond strengths (and thus the p/Co values of the [MX(H20)(CN)4]" complexes) (see Tables III and IV) on the reaction rate is nicely illustrated by the plot of log versus the p/Coi value of [MX(H20)(CN)4]"" (see Fig. 23). The observed LFER also points to a dissociative mechanism. The large deviation for the technetium complex (with interesting consequences for nuclear medicinal applications of Tc complexes) is difficult to explain 174). [Pg.308]

A general review on rhenium complexes containing poly(pyrazolyl)borates appeared in 1998.110 In 2004, an overview of the progress involving group VII elements and actinide was presented by Santos and coworkers,111 who very recently described also rhenium and technetium complexes anchored by scorpionates prepared for radiopharmaceutical application.112 Keane and Harman described exhaustively the coordination chemistry of a new generation of Tt-basic dearomatization agents M(Tp)(L)(7t-acid). 113 Jones et al.114 reported a review on the role of unstable alkane... [Pg.18]
