Synthesis of 2-diphenylphosphino-2-methoxybiphenyl

This compound could be obtained in 90% yield by coupling diphenylphosphine with 1 equiv of 1,2-bromoiodobenzene in the presence of 1.1 equiv of NaOAc and 0.5% Pd(OAc)2 in DMAc at 130 °C,7 followed by oxidation with H202. 

The Boc protection group was cleaved during the coupling reaction. Boc = 1,1-dimethy-lethoxycarbonyl.
