Synthesis of 3,3-Bis Chloromethyl Oxetane BCMO

The classical method of BCMO synthesis is by Sorensen and Campbell9)  [Pg.67]

According to this procedure, pentaerithritol is treated with the mixture CH3COOH/ H20/HC1 at 160 °C in an autoclave and the product is refluxed with CH3OH. Crude trichloropentaerithritol is then refluxed with KOH in a CH30H/H20 mixture. [Pg.68]
