Synthesis of a Disilane

Ar(SiMe3)NSiHCl2 and IfBu2 were synthesized according to published procedures (3,4). [Pg.126]

Schlenk flask, magnetic stirrer, vacuum pump, low-temperature bath, safety glasses, laboratory coat, and protective gloves. [Pg.126]

The synthetic operations were carried out under an atmosphere of dry argon or nitrogen by using modified Schlenk line and glo-vebox techniques. Solvents were freshly distilled from sodium and degassed prior to use. [Pg.126]

A solution of IfBu2 (0.09 g, 0.5 mmol) in THF (5 mb) was slowly added to a stirred solution of Ar(SiMe3)NSiHCl2 (0.35 g, 1 mmol) in THF (5 mb) at —78°C. The mixture was slowly warmed to room temperature and stirred overnight. The volatiles were [Pg.126]

The dehydrohalogenation method is useful for the synthesis of various disilanes from di- and monosubstituted hydrochlorosilanes. [Pg.127]
