2 Swelling of the chain in solution with overlap neutron scattering 

In the limit of zero concentration, it may be assumed that the swelling of the total chain depends only on one parameter, which is the interaction parameter z. 

In solution with overlap, the presence of other chains screens the interaction, which has the effect of decreasing the swelling. The latter depends then on chain-concentration as well as on z.
