Survey of the Reactions in Solution

The chemistry of dissolved ionic amides is only briefly reviewed and illustrated by some typical examples because of the uncertainty in identifying the reacting species as explained on p. 259. 

KNH2 + P(0C2H5)3 KOC2H5 + [(C2H50)2PNH2] polymcr + NH3, C2H5OH 

Addition besides substitution during the titration of SiCl4 with KNH2 in NH3 leads to K2Si(NH)3 at a reactant ratio of 1 6 and to K4Si(NH)4 at a reactant ratio of 1 8 [10]. The formation of Th(NH2)2l2 NH3 fi onn equimolar quantities of KNH2 and Th in NH3 is attributed to initial ammonolysis with formation of Th(NH2)l3 as an intermediate [11].
