Table 9.2 presents a summary of the surface-confined (SC) ATRP reaction condihons and corresponding ellipsometry results for the poly(amino (meth)acrylate)s discussed above, as well as analogous systems synthesized with SC-SET-LRP. Due to the attraction of ultrafast polymerization rates for SET-LRP, SC-SET-LRP polymerizations of amino (meth)acrylates were conducted from Si substrates. The same type of SAM substrate, 3-aminopro-pyltriethoxysilane (APTES)-modified Si, was used in all samples as those in SC-ATRP, but for SC-SET-LRP polymerizations the catalyst was Cu(0) powder instead of copper halides and the ligand selections were guided by the aforementioned SC-ATRP inveshgahons.
