At the extreme, inorganic compounds are usually very different from organic chemicals made from non-metals, to be described next, but they may exhibit intermediate and even similar behaviour, as we shall see later in this and subsequent chapters. 

Most importantly when the two are put in compounds a wealth of new properties are found, which is described in brief at the end of this chapter.
