Sulphur-containing polymers, structure

The tridentate sulphur containing ligand in Ph2SbS2P(OPr )2 also favours the formation of polymer chains. However, the structure differs from the complex mentioned above and contains one strong Sb—S bond of 254 pm and two weaker intermolecular... [Pg.335]

Typical polymers contain about 1-5% sulphur (in sulphonyl chloride units) and the structure of a typical rubber of this type may be represented by ... [Pg.345]

One of the main surface techniques used for the analysis of thin surface films formed by ZDDP is XPS. It is found that the films formed from ZDDP alone are composed of inorganic polymer materials which contain zinc, phosphorus, oxygen and sulphur [l,4,5,6,7j. Martin et al. [4] suggested a two layer structure of these films on the top surface the long chain polyphosphate (zinc phosphate) and in the bulk the short chain polyphosphate is a mixed Fe/Zn phosphate with a graded concentration, enriched in Fe at the base. This is supported also by the work of Fuller et al. [5] using the XANES technique, and mechanisms of conversion of long chain polyphosphates into short chain polyphosphates are... [Pg.28]

Ommins are polymeric, insoluble and some contain sulphur. They are less well investigated. The structure of the trimer ommin A (Figure 8.21) suggests that they may all be based on linear polymers of hydroxykynurenine. Using S-labelling, it has been shown that the sulphur in ommins can be derived from cysteine or methionine, but not from sulphate, thiocyanate or sulphide. [Pg.140]
