H. Vare (1990). Aluminium polyphosphate in the ectomycorrhizal fungus Suillus variegatus (Fr.) O. Kunze as revealed by energy dispersive spectroscopy. New. Phytol., 116, 663-668. [Pg.263]

Boletus spp., Xerocomus spp., Suillus variegatus and other boletes (Table 8) Yellow - blue Variegatic acid (73) and/or Xerocomic acid (72) - Anions of the type (77) (Scheme 10)... [Pg.250]

The cap skins of Suillus americanus, S. collinitus, S. granulatus, S. luteus, and S. variegatus contain the colourless hydroquinone derivative suillin (238), which is closely related to boviquinone-4 (390). Its structure followed from the spectroscopic data and its conversion into the cyclic carbonate (239) (Scheme 44) which proved the position of the acetoxy group. Hydrolysis of suillin (238) with dilute aqueous acid led to 3-geranylgeranyl-l,2,4-trihydroxybenzene (240) which has been synthesized by the method outlined in Scheme 44 (390). [Pg.105]

Variegatic Acid, a New Tetronic Acid Responsible for the Blueing Reaction in the Fungus Suillus Boletus) variegatus (Swartz ex Fr.). Chem. Commun. 1967, 373. [Pg.262]
