Photoisomerization of 1-acylindoles yields 3-acylindolenines, as exemplified by the conversion of compound (413) into compound (414) (81JA6990). 

Thermal rearrangement of TV-chloropyrrole in methanol yields 2-chloropyrrole whereas acid-catalyzed rearrangement gives a mixture of 2- and 3-chloropyrrole and some 2,5-dichloropyrrole (82JOC1008).
