Strong hydrogen bonds physical interpretations

An ab initio quantum chemical model was proposed by Pelmenschikov et al. [828] to interpret IR data of methanol adsorption on zeolites. At variance with suggestions to assign bands at 2977 and 2871 cm to methoxy groups, [=Si - 0(CH3) - Al=], the authors claimed that the bands were due to strongly physically adsorbed methanol, stabilized on the bridging OH groups by two hydrogen bonds. [Pg.152]
