Streamer Propagation Velocity. In the framework of the model of an ideally conducting streamer chaimel (4-12), estimate the difference between streamer velocity (at Ur ratio of about 100) and electron drift velocity in the external electric field. 

Concerning negative streamer propagation, Devins et al. (1981) considered a two step model—electron injection and trapping followed by ionization within the liquid (there results a plasma similar to that produced under positive polarity). The negative velocity is determined by the time spent in one or the other step (injection or trapping).
