As electromechanical transducers, piezoelectrics find many uses in ultrasonics such as sonar transmitters and receivers, ultrasoimd imaging, and nondestructive testing. They are also used in microphones and speakers. Their extreme sensitivity to small changes in pressure makes them useful in strain gages, pressure gages, and accelerometers.
