1 Storing liquid reagents or solvents under an inert atmosphere 

Preparing a storage vessel or reaction fitted with a septum, under inert gas 

Choose a septum which fits tightly into the neck of the flask or bottle that you wish to seal. 

Dry the container thoroughly, either in an oven or by heating under vacuum. 

Fit a new septum as quickly as possible, minimizing exposure of the reagent to the atmosphere.
