Stop sounds

Contemplative meditation requires that the subject relinquish his customary mode of thinking and perceiving. Thoughts must be stopped, sounds and peripheral sensations put out of one s mind, and the contemplation of the meditative object be conducted in a non-analytic, non-intellectual manner. Some large rooms convert to several smaller rooms with folding partitions. Some partitions are plastic. By itself, the plastic partitions do little to stop sound transmission. Most manufacturers incorporate lead strips into the sections that fold. The goal is to add mass to the partitions to reduce the amplitude of panel vibration and reduce sound transmission. Companies selling partitioning panels provide sound attenuation data for their products. 

Reverberation Control. Reverberation time (T q) is defined as the length of time in seconds for the sound of an instantaneously stopped source in a room to decay by 60 decibels (dB). Reverberation time is one important factor in determining the acoustical character of a space and its suitabiHty for specific activities. For lectures and other speech activities a relatively short reverberation time is desirable so that syllables do not persist and overlap one another, causing difficulty with inteUigibiHty conversely, for music activities, a relatively long reverberation time is desirable to allow blending of the sound and a sense of being surrounded by the music. Without reverberation music usually sounds dull and lifeless.

In guidance document ICH E3, Structure and Content of Clinical Study Reports, the FDA defines treatment-emergent signs and symptoms (TESS) as events not seen at baseline and events that worsened even if present at baseline. As simple as that may sound, it can sometimes be quite difficult to program. The important data variables that come into play are dosing record dates and times, adverse event start and stop times, and adverse event severity. All of these data variables need to be completed accurately for TESS to be calculated properly. 

So far we have given evidence for the flexibility and adequacy of the orbital implementation of the KT by Oddershede and Sabin to study atomic and molecular stopping through different approaches. A major breakthrough based on this theory is the OLPA put forward by Meltzer et al., since it incorporates the simplicity - yet physically sound basis - of the LPA for the calculation of mean excitation energies.
