Static Relaxation in IPNs

While simple homopolymers and random copolymers exhibit single, sharp glass transitions, polymer blends in general, and IPN s in particular, show two such transitions, one for each phase. The intensity of each transition is clearly related to the overall composition and phase continuity, while shifts and broadening of the transition indicate the extent of molecular mixing.
