Speed Adjustment in Vacuum Pumps

Increasing the speed over the rated speed can be used to increase the suction capacity almost proportionately to the speed. The power requirements increase disproportionately during this process. 

The limit usually lies at approximately 70 Hz for units designed for 50 Hz AC. 

The strain caused by the higher torque and circumferential speeds is still unproblematic here. 

The speed adjustment also enables the suction power to be adjusted extremely precisely and should be used if the required suction power lies in the control range of the vacuum pump.
