Specimen Preparation and Typical FT-IR Spectrum

Historically, hard tissues were analyzed by FT-IR as homogenized powders in KBr or other infrared transparent material pellets of known sample concentrations. 

PMMA spectral interference may be present, in which case the spectra should be processed appropriately as published elsewhere, so as to eliminate the embedding medium spectral contribution [36, 38, 39,42,43].
