Sorting methodology

The Q-sort methodology (Coxon, 1999 Rosch, 1976) originates from psychology and consists in sorting the stimuli (conceptual or perceptive) into categories defined a priori. This task is generally used in order to test the existence of concepts shared by the subjects and to identity the properties linked to these concepts. [Pg.156]

The sorting methodology as such is not descriptive unless a descriptive step is added as part of the proceedings. This is straight forward, as the assessor is asked to... [Pg.188]

With so many variations in methodology in the literature, some sort of standardisation of analytical methods is necessary. One study of standardisation... [Pg.462]

Most people have seen the cartoon — a big complex diagram of some outfit s Methodology it s got all sorts of purposeful-sounding tasks, numerous feedback loops and checkpoints, extensive forms and documentation templates to fill out, matrices to put check marks against and metrics to tell you how well you are doing. Inputs to analysis at one end, code out at the other. But in the middle of all this busy activity, all arrows converge sooner or later on the box that says And Then A Miracle Happens ... [Pg.632]

There is some interesting new methodology that has been worked out in the course of these studies 73>76>. in general, stereospecificity relations of this sort are examined with the help of other enzyme reactions of known stereospecificity. When mevalonic acid (lactone form, 8 is fed to Claviceps, the 5-Hs atom is incorporated into the ergot alkaloids agroclavin 9a and elymoclavin 9b, whereas the 5Hr, atom is lost. [Pg.55]

A vital question which remains unanswered, however, is precisely what sort of larger problems quantum chemical research should address. Historically the field has primarily dealt with problems associated with molecular spectroscopy, the methylene problem being a classic example. [4] As a result, the driving force behind nearly all methodological development in quantum chemistry has been applications involving small molecules (fewer than twenty atoms) of rather limited interest to other areas of chemistry or biochemistry. We are currently enjoying a period of symbiotic collaboration between experimentalists and quantum chemists where the fun-... [Pg.233]

The colors in the Spiro textiles include a rose red, pink, yellow, grey, tan, and brown-black. King and Gardner (22) claim that die textiles were colored by some sort of resist dye methodology. Because pigments must have a binder to paint or coat fiber surfaces they could not have been die source for these colors if a resist technique was in fact the method of Spiro textile coloration. [Pg.18]

To further exemplify this methodology, let us take a typical example of the application of a template reaction as seen in the synthesis of a mixed N2S2 donor macrocyclic ligand 6.11. This compound is of interest to the co-ordination chemist as it possesses a potentially square-planar array of soft (sulfur) and harder (nitrogen) donor atoms. What sort of co-ordination chemistry is it likely to exhibit Will the hard or the soft characteristics dominate The most obvious route for the synthesis of 6.11 would involve the reaction of the dithiol 6.10 with l,2-bis(bromomethyl)benzene (Fig. 6-7). [Pg.139]
