Some words, their origin and current usage

Misunderstandings are a major source of human conflict. Likewise, new terminology can cause much frustration, especially if it is considered (though often unfairly) as redundant, new words for old things , or even on the border of Orwellian newspeak [34]. 

we have to exercise extreme care when coining and promoting new terms and phrases. We have to be aware of its effects not only on the community it is primarily conceived for, but also for its effects on outsiders , particularly if these words already have a different meaning (although this is not always easy to find out ). 

For example, phrases such as ...a new tecton to be used in self assembly of a supramolecular coordination polymer... is clear to most people in the field.
