It is evident from growth experiments and observations of natural calcium phosphates that precursor phases such as ACP, TCP, OCP, or DCP can be involved in the precipitation of hydroxylapatites at low temperature conditions. The presence of these phases, mixed with apatite, has, in part lead to the difficulty in making accurate solubility measurements of apatites. [Pg.65]
