Soil Sorption Constant - Soil/Water (Knp.). The distribution of a chemical between soil and water can be described with an equilibrium expression that relates the amount of chemical sorbed to soil or sediment to the amount in the water at equilibrium.

A very high proportion of the LAS was adsorbed onto soil during spiking. For 15 different soils and amounts of surfactant vaiying from 50- 150 ug, on average 96.0+3.9% (1 SD) of the LAS was adsorbed onto the soil matrix.
