The polyacrylamide copolymers were prepared by dispersion of 2.0 g of acrylamide and varying amounts of comonomers in a 50 ml capped round bottomed flask containing 20.0 ml of deionized water, 4.0 ml acetone and 0.12-0.25 wt% surfactant (sodiumlauryl sulfate or potassium perfluoro-octanoate).
