Small Angle Scattering from Simple Structures

Small Angle Scattering from Simple Structures [Pg.19]

At high temperatures the polymers and paraffins are completely dissolved in decane and a small angle scattering experiment will provide the scattering from single coils. For this case the corresponding macroscopic cross-section exhibits the following form  [Pg.19]

Here A2 denotes the second viral coefficient, P(Q) the polymer form factor, and Vp the molar polymer volume. For a Gaussian coU  [Pg.19]

As the temperature is lowered the self-assembling of the polymers and paraffins results in the formation of large objects with a characteristic morphology for each investigated component. The scattering from these objects can often be characterized by the power laws  [Pg.19]

Beaucage and Schafer [47] proposed a general form for the cross-section of a fractal object combining both the Guinier regime where da/dQ [Pg.19]

Small Angle Scattering from Simple Structures... [Pg.19]

In order to obtain comparable data from such complex systems we have developed a cell with the ability of use for measurements both in reflection and small-angle neutron scattering geometry. This cell allows studies of adsorbed surface layers and the equilibrium bulk structures for one sample in the same experiment by simple rotation of the cell. This is a particular advantage when smdying surfactants above the cmc or liquid crystals which may show one type of order at a surface and another in the bulk. [Pg.142]
