Slow Food

Founded by Carlo Petrini in Italy in 1986, Slow Food is an international association that promotes food and wine culture and also defends food and agricultural biodiversity worldwide. 

Many of the SENCER models are interdisciplinary with topics including HIV/AIDS, slow food, and sleep science. Numerous chemistry-related models have been identified and are listed in Table 2.1.

Slow Food is only one of the movements built on criticizing the modem con-siuner society. Several consumer organizations were foimded after World War 11. They accepted new technologies, but they sought to control the development of mass food production and distribution. Consumentenbond in the Netherlands has significant monitoring responsibiUties and already had 275,000 members in 1970.
