This aspect is related to the Stark splitting of the levels described in Table 3. Again here, luminescence is the easiest to analyze given the non-degeneracy of the emissive Dq level. When allied to high-resolution selective laser excitation of components of the Dq Fq transition, symmehy of multi-site molecules and materials can be worked out easily, based on group-theoretical considerations [31, 33]. Such detailed analyses are not discussed here.
