SiOx species

Thus, in all OSiX2 and SiOX species we encounter SiO bonds which essentially correspond to the bonds within the SiO molecule and, therefore, also exhibit bonding parameters completely different from the corresponding carbon compounds, e.g. CO and OCCI2. In the following section, we examine this matter in more detail. 

Supporting the FTIR results, x-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) spectra (29) of an unexposed and exposed nanocomposite indicated surface enhancement of silicate.
