Sinomeneine methine

Bromodesmethoxydihydrosinomeneine and desmethoxydihydro-sinomeneine may both be converted into methine bases, [lxv, R = Br] and [lxv, R = H], which can be reduced to desmethoxydihydrosino-meneine dihydromethine [lxvi]. These compounds are the antipodes of those derived from the dihydrocodeinone series [29].
