Single repeating unit

The volume of the unit cell and thus the volume occupied in the crystal by a single repeat unit, can be obtained from the repeat distance and the positions of the diffraction spots on the layer lines. This volume can measure the density of the crystals, that is useful in determining the degree of crystallinity.
