Similarity in microflotation and flotation with respect to attachment

Similarity in Microflotation and Flotation with Respect to Attachment and Their Divergence with Respect to Collision [Pg.462]

The separation of flotation and microflotation theories was proposed by Deijaguin Dukhin (1960) due to a significant divergence in the collision stage, and difficulties in the description for large particles and bubbles. Attention was paid to microflotation because both stages are more simple and the clarification of the attachment mechanism in microflotation can also be used for flotation. [Pg.462]

The striking similarity in the attachment stage and difference in the preceding stage manifest themselves in equations for collection efficiency at supercritical Stokes numbers, Eqs (11.74) and (11.100c) and for inertiafree flotation under potential flow (Derjaguin et al. 1976), Eq. (11.107). [Pg.462]

Both equations are a product of two factors. The first depends on the stage before sliding. For example, Eq. (11.107) is the product of Sutherland s equation and the parameter [Pg.462]

The large difference in the structure of first factor in the two equations is the manifestation of different mechanisms of the collision stage. It is seen that the second factor in both equations [Pg.462]
