Silanimines matrix isolation

Irradiation of matrix-isolated (f-Bu)2HSiN3 yielded a mixture of (t-Bu)2Si=NH and (t-Bu)HSi=NBu-t whose IR spectra could so far not be separated, but whose identities were established by trapping342,343. In these unconjugated silanimines, the presumed nn absorption occurs in the near UV (345 nm).
