Silaallenes stability

How might this held develop in the future At this time, the chemistry of 1-silaallenes is fairly well understood, and that of 1-germaallenes is at least partially explored. Perhaps the series can be extended to 1 -stannaallenes, but these are predicted to have quite limited stability. The isolation of the 1,2.3-tristannaallcne shows that any combination of heteroatoms may be combined to form allenes... [Pg.43]

Three different research groups have examined the geometry and relative stabilities of silaallene and its various isomers (21,22,24). Silaallenes have been proposed as reaction intermediates by Kumada (119). [Pg.22]

The smaller polarity of the Si=C bond in 1-silaallenes probably contributes also to the remarkable kinetic stability of the stable silaallenes prepared by West and coworkers, but obviously steric factors play a dominant role in this case. Some product studies have been undertaken with the stable silaallene 572 and they are summarized in equation 212259. [Pg.1002]
