Setting the adjustable check valve oxygen outlet

Setting the adjustable check valve (oxygen outlet) [Pg.189]

Check valve ranges depend on parameters of the system and its purpose. Some of the ranges available are 3-15, 15-65, and 65-175 psig. We used a 15-65 psig for most of our testing. [Pg.189]

On the outlet side, inside the valve, are two nuts that can be adjusted with an alien wrench. The top nut is the locking nut and holds the nut underneath it in place. [Pg.189]

Repeat as necessary until the desired pressure is achieved. When the locking nut is tightened, it tends to move the pressure adjustment nut, so it may take a few attempts to get it right. [Pg.190]

In developing a system, it s a good idea to start out with a low pressure test of around 20 psi. For this operating pressure, set the adjustable check valve to about 25 psi, which is 5 psi above the normal operating pressure. This setting will remain the same whether the accumulator or the equalizer is used. For an operating pressure of 60 psi, the adjustable check valve would be set to 65 psi, and so on. [Pg.190]
