Self-replicating computer program

A computer virus is a logical bomb that is able to self-replicate, to subvert a computer system in some way, and to transmit copies of itself to other hardware and software systems. Each of these copies in turn may self-replicate and affect yet other systems. A computer virus usually attaches itself to an existing program and thereby is permanently stored. [Pg.39]
