Selenide Telluride Layers on Molybdenum

A CdSexTei x powder of any desired composition is prepared according to Section A. Molybdenum substrates of any suitable size for painting of 1 cm2 with CdSexTe x are cleaned as described for Ti in Section B. The preoxidizing step required for Ti (and Cr) is unnecessary here, although also not detrimental. [Pg.84]

A paint of the CdSe Te is made up as described for CdSe in Section B, but substituting CdCl2 for ZnCl2 (in the same molar ratio), and painted onto 1 cm2 of the cleaned Mo. Drying and annealing are carried out as described for CdSe on Ti in Section B. The 02 content of the Ar gas stream is less critical when Mo is used as a substrate and, in fact, pure Ar may be used. The resulting layer may be etched, if required, in the same manner as described for CdSe. [Pg.84]
