Selective transformation of dichlorosilane

The hydrolytic cleavage of the Si-Co bond under extremely mild conditions offers a chance of selective SiH/SiOH transformation in chlorosilanes, yielding unknown chlorosilanols. This type of conversion has been examined for the dichlorosilane Cp(OC)2Fe-SiCl2H (4c). Treatment of 4c with Co2(CO)s produces the hetero-bismetallic silane 7, whieh was also isolated and fully characterized. However, all attempts to selectively hydrolyze the Si-Co bond in 7 have failed so far and only the silanetriol 5c could be obtained (Eq. 6). [Pg.444]
