Air Products s latest acquisition (announced in the July and September 1999 issues of Chemical and Engineering News) is the purchase of half the 11.2 billion assets of BOC, with the other half going to Air Liquide of France, the world s largest industrial gas producer. This deal will make Air Products the world s second largest industrial gas producer, with assets of 13 billion and yearly sales of 8 billion. 

The current itemization of the Air Products s product lines is as follows  

Industrial, medical and specialty gases [59% of sales and 64% of profits in fiscal year (FY) 1998] 

Vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer emulsions and emulsions that incorporate vinyl chloride and various acrylates in the polymer 

Specialty additives that are primarily acetylenic alcohols and amines
