SAR of B-Ring Analogs

Extensive studies have been made of the effect of structural modifications to ring B on the activity of taxol. Most of the work has focussed on analogs at C-2, C-9, and C-10, although some 1-deoxy analogs have also been investigated. 

This review, as noted earlier, is not designed to provide a complete summary of all the S AR work that has been performed, but some general trends and highlights can be observed as described below.
