Sandwich tern

Koeman, J.H., Oskamp, A.A.G., and Veen, J. et al. (1967). Insecticides as a factor in the mortality of the sandwich tern. A prehminary communication. Mededelingen. Rijksfaculteit Landbouwwetenschapen Gent 32, 841-854. [Pg.356]

Endrin is very toxic to fish, aquatic invertebrates, and phytoplankton (96 h LC50 for fish, aquatic invertebrates, and phytoplankton mostly below IpgH ). Eish kills were observed in areas of agricultural runoff and industrial discharge and declining populations of brown pelicans (in Louisiana, USA) and sandwich terns (in the Netherlands) have been attributed to exposure to endrin in combination with other halogenated chemicals. [Pg.988]

FKiURE 9.26. Interference pat tern and profile of a highly flattened drop of water sandwiched between an elastomer and glass. Note the different scales on the two axes. (From P. Martin, P. Silberzari. and F. Brochard, in Laru/muir, IS, p. 4910 (1997). (e) 2001 Anerican Chemical Society. Reproduced by permission.)... [Pg.246]
