Safe Environments for Paper

The safest conditions for storage of paper may be easy to define, but are difficult to achieve in practice. Oxidation may be eliminated by storage in nitrogen but this is not practical in all but a few instances. Recommended conditions are a compromise between what is ideal and realistic. [Pg.49]

18-20°C. On exhibition, light levels are recommended to be as low as possible (50-150 lux usually) with no UV or at least less than 75 p, Watts lumen-1. Some paper-based objects may need a change in these recommendations, e.g. colour photographs are generally stored at lower temperatures. [Pg.50]
