Ruthenium dodecacarbonyl

Tri-iron dodecacarbonyl was prepared according to (l8) bis (cyclopentadienyldicarbonyliron) was prepared according to (19) tri-ruthenium dodecacarbonyl and di-cobalt octacarbonyl were supplied by Strem Chemicals. [Pg.189]

When we took ruthenium dodecacarbonyl and studied its photochemical reactions with triphenyl phosphine, we observed an increase in the quantum yield with increasing triphenyl phosphine concentration. The plot is curved and appears to be approaching a limiting value of < >. This implies that there is a reactive intermediate which can undergo competitive reaction, either in the forward direction (where the rate term is k [L]) or in the reverse direction (where the intermediate reverts back... [Pg.378]

Among the transition metals which catalyze the conversion of C02 to methane, ruthenium is probably one of the most studied (13). Anchoring RuC13 by impregnation on inorganic supports was reported in several instances to result in a catalyst for the reaction. More recently, it was shown that the use of ruthenium dodecacarbonyl in place of the mononuclear complex enhanced not only the conversion of C02, but also the selectivity toward CH, production (1 1,15). Furthermore, these cluster derived catalysts were found to have longer life and to give better conversion to methane at lower temperatures than their mononuclear counter parts. [Pg.244]
