Ruthenium cytosine

Examination of the visible spectra of Ru/DNA complexes reveals that the ruthenium binds primarily at guanine Ny sites on the DNA with additional binding at the exocyclic nitrogens of adenine and cytosine [45, 46]. Possible further binding sites for a species such as a>[Ru(H20)2(NH3)4] have been discussed [27]. [Pg.150]
