Ruthenium cyclopentadienyl phosphine

In 2001, Takahashi and his co-workers developed the first asymmetric ruthenium-catalyzed allylic alkylation of allylic carbonates with sodium malonates which gave the corresponding alkylated compounds with an excellent enantioselectivity (Equation (Sy)). Use of planar-chiral cyclopentadienylruthenium complexes 143 with an anchor phosphine moiety is essential to promote this asymmetric allylic alkylation efficiently. The substituents at the 4-position of the cyclopentadienyl ring play a crucial role in controlling the stereochemistry. A kinetic resolution of racemic allylic carbonates has been achieved in the same reaction system (up to 99% ee). ... [Pg.108]

Two (cyclopentadienyl)bis(phosphine)ruthenium chloride complexes have been investigated the nonlinearities are low. These results have been used in conjunction with measured nonlinearities of acetylenes and acetylide complexes to demonstrate that values for the latter are not simply the sum of the molecular components (see earlier). An example of a metal... [Pg.388]

However, in the presence of (cyclopentadienyl)ruthenium complexes bearing an electron-rich ligand such as tris(p-methoxyphenyl)phosphine in the presence of a large excess of the same ligand, the selective formation of lactones was achieved. The recovery of the organic ligand as a lactone was made possible by oxidation with N-hydroxysuccinimide, a mild oxidant which does not destroy the catalyst (Scheme 8.10) [21],... [Pg.194]

Murahashi and Naota studied the reaction mechanism of cyclopentadienyl ruthenium enolate complex-catalyzed aldol and Michael addition reactions [80-82]. This mechanistic study revealed that the cone angle of the tertiary phosphine ligands largely affects the stability of C- and N-bound complexes [80, 82], Thus, ligation of bulky phosphine ligand would favor the N -bound complexes [80]... [Pg.249]

Ruthenium(II), d, is known as the binary bromide and as [RuCU] ". The richer complex chemistry involves stable compounds with cyanide, amines, halides, water, nitrosyl, carbonyl, hydride, phosphine, arsine, stibine, arene, and cyclopentadienyl ligands. [RuCl2(PPh3)2] is used as a catalyst. Ruthenium(II) is a good itt-donor and... [Pg.323]
