Rudolph Signer

One of the leading figures at the 1935 Faraday Discussion on Polymerization was Rudolph Signer from the University of Berne. He continued at Berne from 1935-1972 and made many important discoveries in polymer science. He was educated at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and traveled with Staudinger to Freiburg in 1926. He played a major role in the research carried out in Staudinger s laboratory. His Ph.D. in 1928 was from Zurich and Emil Ott was on his committee. [Pg.56]
