Round-matte

Break-up of Matt Glaze. The term BREAK-UP is applied more particularly to the glazes containing rutile used on wall tiles. Some of the added rutile dissolves in the glaze, the yellow or brown titanates thus formed subsequently collecting round the undissolved rutile crystals to give the marbled effect known as the rutile BREAK or BREAK-UP. [Pg.38]
