Ribes grossularia

Blueberry, Billberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), Cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) and Gooseberry (Ribes grossularia) with their fresh, sour, green, astringent flavour are now produced in larger quantities. [Pg.419]

Ribes grossularia are closely related to the black currants but are produced less on a commercial scale. Gooseberry seed oil like the seed oil of black currants contains a relatively high amount of y-linolenic acid and could conceivably be developed as a commercial source of this acid. [Pg.184]

The disease is most severe on blackcurrant but also occurs on red-currant varieties derived from Ribes petraeum and on R. alpinum and R. grossularia. [Pg.209]

Synonyms Botrycarpum nigrum (L.) A. Rich., Grossularia nigra (L.) Rupr, Ribes cyathiforme Pojark., Ribes olidum... [Pg.212]
