Rhodes-Wohlfarth ratio

Comparison of the magnetic properties of Sc3In and ZrZn2. The parameters pTM and peff are the moments per transition metal atom deduced from magnetization and susceptibility measurements respectively y the electronic specific heat coefficient, 0n the Debye temperature, 0p the paramagnetic Weiss temperature, and AS the entropy change at Tc. The ratio qc/qs is the Rhodes-Wohlfarth ratio. [Pg.224]

Very weak itinerant ferromagnets, defined as materials for which the splitting in energy between the + and - bands is very small, are predicted to have a number of distinctive properties. In particular, the value of the ratio qc/q% should be much greater than unity and roughly inversely proportional to the Curie temperature (Rhodes and Wohlfarth 1963). Here qc is obtained from the observed paramagnetic susceptibility using the relationship... [Pg.222]
