Requirements to be satisfied by bathing waters

Finally, reference is made to a recommendation of the European Community dated 1975, which is concerned with the quality of bathing waters. Its requirements are summarized below  [Pg.759]

This Directive deals with the quality requirements to be satisfied by bathing waters with the exception of water for therapeutical purposes and water for swimming pools. [Pg.759]

Within the meaning of this Directive, the following definitions apply  [Pg.759]

Within the scope of the checks performed, the bathing waters are considered to comply with the relevant parameters if the samples taken at the sampling point with the frequency stipulated in the Appendix are found to conform with the values of the parameters for the respective water quality [Pg.759]

Samples are to be taken at those points where on average the greatest numbers of bathers per day are recorded. Samples are preferably to be taken 30 cm beneath the water s surface this does not however apply to mineral oil samples which are taken on the surface. Sampling is to begin two weeks [Pg.760]
