Relationship between Management and Supervisor

The relationship between supervisors and their managers plays a key role in the supervisor s performance and in subordinates perceptions of the supervisor and his or her efficiency. 

Communication plays a critical role in the success or failure of an organizations approach to supervision. This includes communication among team members, communication between team members and the supervisor, and communication between the supervisor and higher levels of management. Communication among all elements should be encouraged where appropriate (see Chapter 5) by providing the necessary communication channels.
